Her only vent is talking about space with her beloved grandmother, who is soon to die. How is it to be without ground beneath your feet? How does a child survive in the big city by herself?
 
Space is a metaphor for Gloria's inner world. Each person in her life represents a planet similar in scientific characteristics to his or her character. The force of gravity that she feels for each person causes her to dissolve into it, forgetting about herself. To what does her intergalactic journey lead? Will Gloria find her planet?
